About

With a variety of education platforms and organizations continuing to emerge in the field of embodiment and somatic work, the goals of Somatic Together are two-fold:

  1. Provide a clear path for anyone new to somatics to be introduced to concepts, to organizations, and practitioners in this field who are available to help

  2. Be the platform where new and up and coming somatic practitioners can be seen, discovered by clients, valued for their work, and supported on their journey

For new learners and prospective clients, this field can be a bit overwhelming. Unless you’ve heard of specific organizations or modalities already, where does one begin? Google search? Ask a friend? Ask chatgpt? Or visit somatictogether.com? We’re striving to be the best answer to that question and offer an easy entry point for anyone on the search for knowledge and support. And for those who might already be deep in the rabbit hole, we’re also here to serve as the place to come back to for a fresh, bird’s-eye, view of the world of somatics.

Many directories in this space are scattered across the internet. While still helpful resources (that we reference here), there are many listings, some without filters, that may not be the optimal place for new practitioners to be found. With so many somatic practitioners coming to this work as a new career path, or a shift from another form of therapy, the most common guidance after training is to market ourselves and become social media gurus. While that may be a necessary part of the business model, what if there was also a place where we could be seen and valued for the services we offer? With an easy-to-search directory, a journal for elevating new voices, and events page to promote new and exciting experiences, the hope is Somatic Together can be that place to provide visibility and support. And with a dedicated discord community for organized discussions and collaboration, we won’t have to do this work alone.

In today’s world, the most well-known place to find a therapist online is “Psychology Today.” Maybe one day, the go-to place to find a somatic practitioner online will be “Somatic Together;” a big dream, but one we can work towards together.

In the meantime, whether you’re a visitor, prospective client, or somatic practitioner, we’re glad you’re here and hope to be a helpful part of your journey.
